As the sun goes down a car's headlights become as important as its steering wheel, which means it is vital they stay in good working order, and shine to their maximum potential.

Luckily, one TikTok user has shared her brilliant, eco-friendly hack for cleaning away dirt that gathers on the glass, thus ensuring the headlights are as good as new.

The tutorial video, which was shared by Stacey Raunch on April 27, uses two unexpected, yet very accessible, ingredients; a lemon and some baking soda.

First Raunch dips half a lemon into a tray of the white powder, then she rubs this directly on the headlights, and the effect is instant.

The super tip has since gone viral, having been viewed 7 million times, and garnered over 327,700 likes.

Many also took to the comments section to share their appreciation for the easy-to-follow method, with some also claiming it could save them lots of money.

One TikTok user, Kelly Chisom, wrote: "Umm for my Honda CR-V they are about 250 a piece! So, 2 new ones would run me about 500$. Yeah, I'll try lemons and baking soda!

Another person, Georgia Rae, added: "ugh yeah my lexus headlights are $900 for a new set soo... lemon and baking soda here we go!"

A third, Carrie, explained that she has tried the method, and it had also worked for her, writing: "Yep it made me do it too. So far it's been over a week and it's still looks clear [sic]."

Meanwhile, a fourth social media user, Bel Flores Reyes, also confirmed a version of the technique, commenting: "I used large orange and baking soda.

"The acid from the orange cleared up my front lens on my car. And it still looks great."

TikTok is awash with many other brilliant tips and tricks for cleaning.

Recently a video went viral, showcasing a genius method for reviving white clothing, even removing those unsightly sweat stains.

Australian mom-of-two Chantel Mila, known online as mama_mila_, revealed the secret ingredient to be denture tablets.

Mila, who lives in the city of Melbourne, explained that viewers should soak their white clothes "in warm water + 2 denture tablets for 1/2 hour."

After this, you wash the garments as normal—and the results are clear to see.

The clip has been viewed over 110,400 times and received over 5,594 likes.

One TikTok user, Fun-keymonk, added: "this is soo good!!! I need to buy denture tablets haha."
