The Champions League is back and may the best team win. They didn’t last year apparently. Manchester City, ‘the world’s best team’, are just 9/4 to win three ties and a final this time, very roughly 1/3 per leg. Even though the first leg’s a shoo-in now, that looks a bit thin.
I’ll punt Kylian Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain (8/1 Hills) plus Bayern Munich (9/2 Fred) instead – split each £1 of your total stake, 38p on PSG, 62p on Bayern, at those prices. If EITHER team wins it pays 12/5 on your total bet.
With Real Madrid needing to chase the tie but hampered by bans for PSG’s last-16 second leg visit, the French look particularly juicy.
Over in Spain, punt Vedat Muriqi ‘anytime scorer’ at 3.9/1 (Unibet) for Mallorca at Real Betis (5.30pm, La Liga) - the big Lazio loanee is on fire, and is a good fit for rattling the hosts.
