Leeds vs Manchester United: Best bets for all Sunday's Premier League games

Would you back Harry Maguire in a battle of wits?

That’s reportedly what’s been going on in the Manchester United dressing room.

It’s Captain Maguire vs Cristiano Ronaldo in an executive power-struggle, winner takes the armband.

Unless it’s the armband that’s been slowing Harry down, it’s hard to think what result might improve matters for United.

The stats are damning. Poor David De Gea can boast just six Prem clean sheets this season. Manchester City's Ederson already had 14 ahead of yesterday.

But even United’s much-maligned defence is a country mile better than Leeds’. Today’s hosts (2pm) are leaking two goals per game.

Leeds notably struggle in the air, and set-piece weapon Maguire is fair at the general 10/1 ‘anytime’ on his club and country data this season. Nibble that.

Ronaldo’s got plenty of bounce too, plus he’s on pens. Armband or no, the stats say he’s worth following at 5/4 (Coral, Lads) ‘anytime’.

Wolves have bucked their ideas up. If they’re not careful they might qualify for the Europa Conference.

Visitors Leicester (4.30pm) know they’ll face a far less streaky defence at Molineux than midweek victims Randers, the Danish also-rans. Take NO ‘both teams score’ at Evens.

But some Wolves stats hint that worldie hunter James Maddison is a fun bet at 15/1 (BetVic) ‘to score with a free-kick’, but check he starts - he was poorly in midweek.

The Champions League is back and may the best team win. They didn’t last year apparently. Manchester City, ‘the world’s best team’, are just 9/4 to win three ties and a final this time, very roughly 1/3 per leg. Even though the first leg’s a shoo-in now, that looks a bit thin.

I’ll punt Kylian Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain (8/1 Hills) plus Bayern Munich (9/2 Fred) instead – split each £1 of your total stake, 38p on PSG, 62p on Bayern, at those prices. If EITHER team wins it pays 12/5 on your total bet.

With Real Madrid needing to chase the tie but hampered by bans for PSG’s last-16 second leg visit, the French look particularly juicy.

Over in Spain, punt Vedat Muriqi ‘anytime scorer’ at 3.9/1 (Unibet) for Mallorca at Real Betis (5.30pm, La Liga) - the big Lazio loanee is on fire, and is a good fit for rattling the hosts.
